Dora Helen (Ruff) Garmany

Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Ruff Garmany, age 91, will be conducted on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Garmany entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her residence.  Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Flemon Ruff, Sr. and the late Mary Cooper Ruff.  Mrs. Garmany was a devoted member of Fairview Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, the Youth Choir Director and the Missionary Society.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #36 and AP & B Society.

Mrs. Garmany was predeceased by her husband, Frank Garmany, Sr; daughter, Hattie Bell Heller; brothers, Robert Lee Ruff, George Heyward Ruff, Flemon Ruff, Jr. and Matthew Sims; sisters, Lillie Mae Jeter, Claudia Sims, Mary Lois Goree Sims, Pauline Ruff and Ada Ruff.

Surviving are five daughters, Helen Chaplin (Thomas) of Whitmire, SC Dorothy Gilliam (Richard), Veretta Garmany of Pomaria, SC; Rose Garmany and Glendora Garmany of Newberry, SC; two sons, Frank Garmany, Jr. (Gloria) and Bobby Garmany; sister, Marie Williams of Columbia, SC; brother, Floyd Sims of Newberry, SC; 22 grandchildren including devoted grandchildren, Ebony and Jekayla Garmany, 38 great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Alfred Heller; daughter-in-law, Teresa Cannon (Larry); long-time family friend Ruth Ruff and family,  a host of other relatives and friends.
