Derrick Pearson

Funeral services for Mr. Derrick Durand Pearson, age 47, will be conducted on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Gethsemane Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late James Robert and Ruthie Mae Trapp Pearson.  He entered into Eternal Rest on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Providence Heart Hospital.

Derrick graduated from Fairfield Central High School in 1988.  He also attended Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC.  He was currently employed at Hardee’s in Newberry.

Surviving are, one son, Malik D. Pearson of Little Mountain, SC; one daughter, DeErica Pearson of Newberry, SC; three sisters, Pamela Pearson of Columbia, SC; Tara Pearson of Blair, SC; Letecia Pearson McKevie (Jerome) of Graniteville, SC; one brother, Keith O. Lake of Newberry, SC; three nephews, Kendrick Lake of Newberry, SC; Ty’Shane Metze of Blair, SC; Keith Lake, Jr. of Washington, DC; two nieces, LaKetha Lake of Newberry, SC; Kriston Glymph of Graniteville, SC; one great-niece, Kelauria Jackson and one great-nephew Kingston Jackson both of Newberry, SC; one aunt Janet ( Jimmy) Moses of Newberry, SC; five uncles, Claude Trapp, Jr. of Blair, SC; Douglas Trapp (Patricia) and Willie Trapp (Nancy) of Newberry, SC; Charles Trapp (Mischele) of Blair, SC; Robert Trapp (Denise) of Pomaria, SC; four great-aunts, Elizabeth Jeter of Newberry, SC; Elizabeth Kincade of Atlanta, GA; Alice Mack Werts of Columbia, SC; Eloise Coleman of Blair, SC; a host of cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
