Catherine Taylor

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine D. Taylor, age 88, will be conducted on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah AME Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC.  Born in Prosperity, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late L. B. Praylow and the late Lucille Davenport Wise.  Mrs. Taylor was a member of Mt. Moriah AME Church where she was a member of the Gospel Choir.  She was also a member of Women's Home Aid Society #108 and Daughter of Meridian Chapter #274.  Mrs. Taylor was a former employee of Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Taylor was predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel Taylor, Sr.

Surviving are devoted daughter, Linda (Otis) Langford of Newberry, SC; six sons, Sammie Lee Taylor of Greenwood, SC; Sammie Lewis (Carolyn) Taylor, David (Carolyn) Taylor, Nathaniel (Mary) Taylor, Jr. and George (Rose Mary) Taylor all of Newberry, SC; Jerry (Debbie) Taylor of LaPlito, MD; grandson reared in the home, Johnny (Mesha) Taylor of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Betty Abney of Leesville, SC; Mattie Praylow Stephens of Whitmire, SC; one brother, Luther Praylow of Silverstreet, SC; 26 grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one uncle, special cousin, Rosa Scott, other relatives and friends.
