Catherine (Fant) Gilliam

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Gilliam, age 80,  of 1441 Whitener Road will be conducted on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Pratt Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Church cemetery.

Catherine entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Newberry Memorial Hospital in Newberry, SC.   She Born July 4, 1937 in Newberry, SC, to Maggie Baxter Dewalt and the late Maso Fant.

Catherine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She attended the public schools of Newberry, County  throughout her life; she enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and assisted in  raising all of her grandchildren and great -grandchildren.

Catherine was predeceased by her brothers Richard Baxter and Raymond Baxter, and sister Wilhemina Baxter Anderson, as well as a daughter-in-law Clarissa Board-Gilliam.

Surviving are sons, Anthony Daryl Gilliam (Eunitha) of Hopkins, SC, Leonard Rodney Gilliam of Hopkins, SC, Christopher Gilliam of Newberry, SC, and daughter Mary Ann Gilliam of Newberry, SC; one son reared in the home Jamarious Wilson; Goddaughter, Rev. Tina Bookman of Newberry, SC.  nine grandchildren; Catherine Nicole Gilliam-Anderson (Henry), Jarvis Lamar Gilliam, Markell Dazon Jacobs, Anthony Darryl Gilliam Jr, Shayla Letrel Gilliam, Kayla Letrese Gilliam, Iyanna Latavia Gilliam, Jaleel Raekwon Gilliam, and Jamir Dazon Gilliam; four great -grandchildren, Xavia Breonna Anderson, Jaiden Amir Gilliam, Rajon Elodus Markell Jacobs, & Legend Anthony Anderson; one sister-in-law, Maggie Lee Baxter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Including a devoted cousin, Michael Robinson and a devoted friend and caretaker Phyllis Nance.
