Bessie (Bookman) Kinard

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Bookman Kinard, age 80, will be conducted on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Pratt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kinard passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at her home. Born in Newberry County, she was the daughter of the late Purvis Nathaniel Bookman and the late Louvenia Counts Bookman.  She was a member of Daughters of Meridian Chapter #274 and a retiree of J. F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Surviving are daughters, Linda (Lenard) Kearney of Silverstreet, SC; Jacqueline Kinard Robinson of Newberry, SC; Sheryl Kinard of Silverstreet, SC; sons, Willie (Bertha) Kinard; Steven Kinard and James Kinard of Newberry, SC; sisters, Teaner B. Billups of Clarksdale, Mississippi.; Bernice Bookman of Saluda, SC; brothers, Thomas Nathaniel Bookman of Spokane, Washington; Pervis James (Bernice) Bookman of Ft. Worth, TX; Joseph (Joann) Bookman of Newberry, SC; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
