Avery McHardy Wells

Funeral services for Mr. Avery McHardy "CAT" Wells, age 55, will be conducted on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Brown Chapel AME Church.  Burial will follow in Elisha AME Church cemetery.

Mr. Wells passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at  Hospice of Laurens County.  Born in Newberry County, he was the son of Margaret Wells Mozee and the late Mack H. Wells.  He was a member of Elisha AME Church and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  Mr. Wells received his public education at Newberry High School and attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from Midlands Technical College.

Surviving in addition to his mother, a son, Adrian M. Wells of Kileen, TX; sister, Aranetta Boyd (Willie) of Newberry, SC; brothers, Antonio Q. Wells of Blythewood, SC; Andre Wells (Barbara) of Spartanburg, SC; and Dr. Alvin Wells (Gina) of Grays Lake, IL; aunts, Dorothy W. Fields, Juanita L. Chaplin, Malikah L. Ambolley and Ruby L. Workman; uncles, Charles A. Lark, James O. Lark and Michael L. Lark; former wife, LaMeka Jones; seven nephews, five nieces, three great-nephews, three great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
