Funeral services for Mr. Arthur Woodrow Robinson  known by "Wennie Roast" to family and friends, will be conducted on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 9:00 am at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Robinson passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Baypoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tampa FL. Born in Newberry County, he was the son of the late James Eddie Robinson, Sr, and the late Stevie Lucille Moon Robinson. He was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist at an early age and worked with the youth program until his graduation from Gallman High School in 1967. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967 and served our country including two combat zones, Berlin, Germany from 1980 to 1984 and Desert Storm in 1990. He retired in 1991 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He then went to work as Food Director at the MacDill Air Force Base Golf Complex, retiring again in 2012. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather for 48 years.

Mr. Robinson was a great athlete and played football, basketball and baseball in high school and continued football, trading baseball for softball in the Air Force.  He became quite the bowler until his health declined earlier this year and he had to give it up.

Mr. Robinson was predeceased by siblings, Luevone Robinson Sims, James Eddie Robinson, Jr., Bennie Lee Robinson, John Willie Robinson, Sr. and Otis Robinson, Sr.

Surviving are his wife Cynthia Ann Mathis Robinson, daughters, Tara L. Robinson, Kisha V, Robinson Linebaugh (Michael), grandson, Darrius Taariq Hudson and granddaughter, Kyra Christine Patty, all of Tampa, FL; sisters, Linda A. Robinson of Lusby, MD; Betty Jean Wilson of Columbia, SC; Judith R. Sami of Newberry, SC; brothers, Lee Grant (Margie) Robinson of Norfolk, VA; Riley Robinson of Lusby, MD;  Billy Earl (Jackie) Robinson of Newberry, SC; four sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.  A number of other relatives and friends.
