Alexus Lashay White

Funeral services for Ms. Alexus Lashay White, age 20, will be conducted on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Burial will be private.

Alexus passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016.  She was the daughter of  Angela (Leon) Gilmore and Zachery Patterson.  Alexus was baptized at an early age and was an active member of the New Beginnings Christian Church where she was a Junior Usher and participated in the Youth for Christ and Sunday School Ministries.  She loved her church and even after leaving for college she usually made her way back home most Sunday mornings just to be a part of the worship service.  Alexus loved God and others dearly.

Alexus was a 2015 graduate of Newberry High School where she excelled in her studies by consistently making the Honor Roll and eventually inducted into the Beta Club.  She served as the Secretary of the Student Government for two years and a member of the Cheerleading Squad for all four years of high school.  Alexus was currently a freshman at Winthrop University pursing a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.

Alexus was a beautiful person both inside and out.  She was deeply into fashion and styles.  If there was a new look in town, you could count on Alexus to exhibit it with her clothing or hair design.

Cherishing her memory are her parents, Angela (Leon) Gilmore of the home and Zachery Patterson of Newberry, SC; sister, Anjaneke (Joey) Hilton of Columbia, SC; brothers, Calvin Dewalt, III of Columbia, SC; Kylon Miller, Dominic Gilmore, Demarcus Gilmore and Tyrese Gilmore all of Newberry, SC; Zachery Jermie of Queens, NY; grandparents, Elizabeth and Bennie Jackson; Ella Mae Gilmore of Newberry, SC; Fred Benson of Columbia, SC; Frances and Calvin Dewalt, Sr. of Norristown, PA; nephew, Jayden Hilton; nieces, Sesame, Kera and Kimora Miller; uncle, David Davis; eight aunts, Hillary, Katherine, Celestine, Felicia, Tasha, Annette, Barbara and Sharon; special friends, Kiera Williams, Deana Wright and Cory Young; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.
